Yellow Wings are a Carbon Neutral Airline!
We offset all of our Jet A1 fuel with the Wildlife Works Kasigau reforestation project.
Wildlife Works is the worlds leading REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) programme development and management company. It has established a successful model that uses the emerging marketplace for REDD+ carbon offsets to protect threatened forests, wildlife and communities.
Wildlife Works groundbreaking Kasigau REDD+ project protects over 500,000 acres of highly threatened Kenyan forest, securing the entire wildlife migration corridor between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks, and brings the benefits of direct carbon financing to more than 100,000 people in the surrounding communities.
Supporting our team!
Kibra Utd is a football team which is run by a group of retired professional footballers who volunteer to go into Kibera (one of the largest informal settlements in Kenya), to train and help young people with their football talents. They provide football training and mentoring as well as the necessary supplies such as shoes and clothes so that the children can participate.
The children start training as young as 5 years old and start playing in the league from 14 years upwards. The leaders of the club personally coach the kids which empowers them to combat some of the major problems that living in an informal settlement brings.
Yellow Wings are proud to be sponsors of this project. We have just invested in the new away kit for the players and for merchandise sales. All the money raised through the sale of the kit will go directly back into Kibra Utd, helping the players and the club with pitch rentals, transport to away matches, food, clothing and much more.
