January 2025 Update from Christian

Our Commitment to Safety and Excellence

Dear Valued Partners and Friends,

As we close in on the end of January 2025, we are excited to celebrate our 28th year at Yellow Wings! This milestone is a wonderful opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support and partnership throughout the years.

Since our incorporation in 1996 with the 2-seater Supercub, we have witnessed remarkable growth. Today, we operate four Cessna Caravans that connect travelers across Kenya, Tanzania, East Africa, and extend into the wider African and Middle Eastern regions.  All our planes are operated with 2 pilots, ensuring enhanced safety and operations efficiency.

Our journey has been made possible by our extraordinary team. Today, we are proud to employ 26 dedicated staff members, including 11 skilled pilots and 15 office and ground personnel. Their hard work and commitment ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently every day.

To further enhance our safety protocols, we have introduced simulator checks for our pilots, which go above and beyond standard safety regulations. This initiative ensures that our team is not only well-trained but also prepared to handle a wide range of flight scenarios, reinforcing our commitment to safety.

In 2021, we made a significant commitment to corporate responsibility. We are proud to be one of the first private charter airlines to achieve carbon neutrality by offsetting our Jet A1 fuel through the Wildlife Works Kasigau reforestation project. This initiative protects over 500,000 acres of critical Kenyan forest, ensuring the preservation of wildlife migration corridors and providing direct benefits to over 100,000 people in local communities.

We have also actively supported local community projects, including our partnership with Kibra United Football Club. This initiative began with volunteers helping young athletes develop their skills, providing essential supplies such as shoes and clothing. Yellow Wings proudly sponsors the club's kit and covers costs for pitch rentals and transport, making a significant impact in fostering local talent while inspiring other companies to support the club as well.

Another key initiative involved a clean-up operation in Saikeri, a rural Maasai village facing numerous challenges. With approximately 2,000 residents, this community struggles with poverty, healthcare access, water scarcity, and environmental issues. Our team dedicated a day to clean up the village, and we are committed to continuing our support for this community and its future generations.

As we move forward in 2025, we will continue to support these valuable projects and maintain our commitment to excellence in service and safety standards across Africa. We welcome your feedback and would love to hear from you. Additionally, please consider following us on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn for regular updates and insights into our programs and services.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Here's to a successful and enriching 2025!

Safe travels,

Christian
